The best blogs not only entertain and educate, they also inspire. And weight-loss bloggers who detail their journeys, intimately revealing the ups, downs, struggles, and successes, are some of the most motivational reading on the web.
There's a community of bloggers who could be categorized as plus size, weight loss, or any number of other labels, and at their core, they're changing their lives and tens of thousands of others in the process.
Weight-Loss Bloggers We LoveTake Josie Maurer of YumYucky.com. Her blog started like most—as a way to journal her weight-loss experience, keep her accountable, and share her insights from on and beyond the scale. She’s lost nearly 40 pounds and in the process gained some serious muscle tone and loyal fans. Her sassy voice of moderation, known as “feeding her greedy side,” shows everyone that you can absolutely have your cake too.
She’s not the only weight-loss blogger keeping it real: Roni Noone of RonisWeigh.com has lost 70 pounds through blogging and striking a balance. She tells the tale of “one mom’s journey from fat to skinny to confident,” sharing her love of serial Tough Mudders and getting creative with the healthiest ingredients possible. Her following is so expansive that this year she will host her Fitbloggin’ conference for the fifth time and continue leading the #WYCWYC movement on Twitter (that’s “what you can, when you can”).
There are still many bloggers in the thick of their journeys who tell their stories every day in such candid detail that all who meet (or read) them champion their cause. They’re smart, honest, funny, raw, and the real face of what can happen when you make up your mind to be stronger, fitter, slimmer, or simply just more confident.
A champion of a healthy body image, AuthenticallyEmmie.com's Emily was named to DietsinReview.com’s 2013 Best Of list. She’s on her way “from 455 pounds to healthy.”
Alan of SweatingUntilHappy.com started at 480 pounds. Down more than 150 pounds, he’s now facing his first triathlon. He blogs the “thoughts that enter the mind of [an] overweight person who is trying to lose weight.”
Tired of being tired of everything that weighs on the life of someone battling his weight, Martinus, the man behind 300PoundsAndRunning.com, is literally running (and blogging) it off with one marathon medal to his name so far.
And Kenlie at AllTheWeigh.com first made headlines as the woman who was ”too fat to fly”, but follow her personal journey, and you know she’s so much more. Daily selfies prove she’s putting in the sweat equity to “change the outside while learning to love the inside.”
