Everyone Want Easy Slimming Success

By Alison Wilcox

Modern people are into fast and easy solutions to almost everything. They speed up their cars, their meals, their computers, and their communication. (Texting takes less time than a phone call, for example.) They also want fast and easy slimming success. Giving it to them has become big business.

Even though we know the secret that always works (eat less, exercise more), we spend millions on pills, special work out clothes, gym memberships, and meal replacement bars and drinks that promise us weight loss without the deprivation. No need to give up your favorite foods (even if they are eclairs and milk shakes?) and no need to exercise. Lose weight while you sleep!

Some overweight people are defeated before they start by all the dieting advice and hype they hear. Carbs are good, carbs are bad, fat is necessary, fat should be cut out, protein is good, too much protein is dangerous, vitamins help with weight loss, vitamins make you hungry. There are almost as many diet plans as there are calories in a candy bar.

It's kind of interesting to research all the advice on losing weight. You will find some common themes. Almost every plan advises drinking a lot of water and urges dieters to exercise. You should not believe all you read about diet pills and supplements - a lot of it is really advertising. Another good idea is to try things one at a time. If something is going to work, you won't need other substances that purport to do the same thing.

Sadly, it is a fact that we hate to diet, have a terrible time sticking to a food plan, let dust collect on treadmills and yoga mats, and just plain love to eat. We don't sleep well, stay up too late watching TV, rush off to work where we sit all day, and get home too tired to exercise or even choose dinner wisely. A magic pill that will melt away fat with no effort on our part sounds wonderful.

There really are oral preparations that help; you just need to make sure they're safe. Exceeding the dosage of otherwise safe herbs or other chemical or natural substances is dangerous. A lot of people get in trouble with with dieting aids because they do not take them as recommended.

However, if you research the supplements or pharmaceuticals that are available, do not try to take everything at once (since some things don't mix), and follow the recommendations of the manufacturer or a health care adviser, you can lose pounds and melt stubborn fat on your belly and thighs. Adding exercise and choosing whole foods that are nutritionally dense rather than packed with empty calories will restore health while helping to shed unwanted pounds.

It is too bad that we gain weight so easily, especially as we get older. However, slimming success is possible. Join a group or work with a friend so you can keep on a program that will make you look and feel like yourself again.
